Contains several different categories (Minerals, Animal Parts, Finished Items, etc.), allowing the DM to create content for various labs, rooms, vials, etc. Also allows the DM to save the generated list to a file.

File Name: Class Creator (30 K) Web URL: Unknown Description: A nice little program which allows the DM to create a new character class. Fairly comprehensive, allows numerous specifications, and calculates required experience based on user supplied information. Allows output to text file or generates html file.

File Name: FRPG Captain's Log Generator (2.6 M) Web URL: FRPG Homepage Description: This program generates a Captain's Log....no, not like on Star Trek. A ship's Captain's Log. I tried it out, and it does what it claims. However, the logs generated seemed a bit uneventful.

File Name: SJV Dice Roller (6 K) Web URL: The Apprentice's Lair Description: A small program that lets you roll standard AD&D dice. However, you can only roll 1-4 dice at a time.

File Name: Crime and Punishment (1.16 M) Web URL: The World of Tryll Description: This program allows the DM to simulate a medieval courtroom. It takes into account many variables - the mood of the judge, bribery, skill of the solicitor - even the weather! The DM just inputs the charges, makes a few clicks, and a verdict is rendered (complete with explanation). The only program of its like I have ever seen for AD&D.

File Name: FantaSoft Deck of Many Things Simulator (1.06 M) Web URL: The Tower Cragenmoor Description: FSDecks is a simulator for a full Deck of Many Things. It allows you to determine the number of cards to draw before you start drawing them. Each card is beautifully crafted artwork. As the cards come up, the description of what happens is shown to you. The program keeps a running count of how many cards you have left to draw.

File Name: D&D Task Manager Description: This handy program automates many tasks. The program not only allows the DM to roll for wandering monsters, it contains a battle calculator, encounter calculator, dice program, and a character generator.

File Name: DM's Calculator (12 K) Description: This is a very handy little program that allows the DM to roll dice, doubling as a standard calculator. Requires VB2 files.

File Name: Deck of Many Things (1.2 M) Mirror: Deck of Many Things (1.2 M) Description: This program automates the selection of cards from AD&D's much loved/feared Deck of Many Things. Complete with pictures of the cards and scary sound FX, this program is quite useful, and does what is intended very, very well. I highly recommend this program to any DM who might give out such a deck.

File Name: DarkX's Dice Roller v0.1 Web URL: DarkX's Dungeon Description: A simple dice roller. Allows most common AD&D dice, rolling anywhere from 1 to twenty at a time.

File Name: Fantasy Names Kit (107 K) Web URL: Forgotten Realms Daleland Campaign Description: MAC Software. A freeware HyperCard stack that helps you easily find a fantasy name on the spur of the moment. Contains a database of 8,000 names as well as a random generator. Required Files: Stuffit Expander, ZipIt and Hypercard Player

File Name: The Ultimate Proficienciy Database (14 K) Web URL: The Keep Description: Fairly useful database of AD&D Non-Weapon Proficiencies, in Access 97 Format.

File Name: Dimfo (192 K) Web URL: Knowl-Edge Programming Description: Dimfos primary purpose is for helping out with combat details. It contains an initiative roller. Also included is an optional health system. The main screen is a scratch pad where you can keep track of the important statistics for all the players and monsters currently running around at a given time.

File Name: Creature Library Web URL: The Realm of Mythosa Description: A database program used for tracking monster statistics. Allows the DM to attach a picture to the description. Also allows for categorization, and the creation of "Rosters", into which the DM can group like creatures.

File Name: XP-O-Matic Web URL: Eric's Refuge Description: The XP-O-Matic handles XP calculations for multiclass characters who may or may not have 10% bonuses in some classes.

File Name: Mass Saver Web URL: Eric's Refuge Description: The Mass Saver is meant to handle the chore of rolling _lots_ of saving throws. It will roll over 2 Billion saving throws at one time and reports number saving and number failing.

File Name: The Roller Web URL: Eric's Refuge Description: The Roller will roll up to 32767 dice with up to 32767 sides, with individual die and total roll modification. It then prints the sum, 1/2 of the sum, and 1/4 of the sum.

File Name: Spell Scribe (4,248 K) Web URL: Campaign Scribe AD&D Utilities Description: Another useful utility, this one allows you to track various magical spells, and search based on spell name, level, etc. Very useful.

File Name: Monster Scribe (4,457 K) Web URL: Campaign Scribe AD&D Utilities Description: A very useful program for tracking monster statistics. Allows for the inclusion of a picture of the creature, as well as tons of room for descriptions, stats, etc.

File Name: Battle Master Version 1.2 Web URL: AD&D - The World of Tryll Description: A handy utility to allow the DM to track initiatives for up to 20 combatants.

File Name: Dungeon Master's Helper Web URL: AD&D - The World of Tryll Description: This handy program contains over 60 different sub-programs, of great use to any DM. Statistic rollers, character creators, a random treasure creator, an experience calculator - this program has it all. The only disadvantage is that it is in DOS format. Despite this, still worth having.

File Name: Ability Score Tracker (75K) Web URL: AD&D - The World of Tryll Description: This DOS based program allows the DM to track ability scores and saving throws of up to 10 characters. This way, the DM can roll saving throws and ability checks for the characters in secret, without alerting the players to the fact that such a check is being made.

File Name: TableSmith Web URL: Realm of Mythosa Description: A table creation and generation program, using a simple but powerful parser-based format. Tables can link to other tables, as well as include simple HTML formatting tags. Results may be exported to HTML files as well. Similar to Wintertree's "TableMaster", but freeware.

File Name: Wild Surge Generator (220 K) Description: Generate Random Wild Surges from a list of over 7000 results.

File Name: AD&D Core Rules CD-ROM 2.0 Dice Demo (1.3 Mb) Web URL: Evermore Entertainment Description: Demo dice rolling program from the AD&D Core Rules Version 2.0. Note, according to the home page, Only one of the Core Rules 2 demos should be installed at one time. Also, once the full product has been installed the demos should not be installed.

File Name: The Everchanging Book of Names 2.1 (225 K) Web URL: The Everchanging Book of Names Description: Creates random names in a flash. Whether you need a name for a character or a locale, EBoN has it. Features several datasets (including Elven, Dwarven, Orcish, Viking...) and the option of making those of your own. Check the web page for latest updates and extra datasets. [Ed. Note: Thus far, this is my personal favourite program for name generation.]

File Name: Magical Item Random Roller (291 K) Description: Allows the user to roll random magic items from the Encyclopedia Magica.

File Name: Magical Weapon Workshop v 1.1 (10 K) Web URL: Ultimage's RPG Page Description: Moderately useful program for the creation of magical weapons. This prorgam does not supply random choices, but does allow the user to choose from the choices present in the DMG.

File Name: Archaic Town Generator v 1.1 (8 K) Web URL: Ultimage's RPG Page Description: I found this one quite handy. The user inputs the town name, rough size, and geographical location, and the program generates a list of buildings for the town. Quite handy when the DM just runs out of businesses to populate his town with.

File Name: Priest Spell List Generator v 1.2 (31 K) Web URL: Ultimage's RPG Page Description: As promised in the name, this fairly spartan little program allows the user to generate a clerical spell list.

File Name: Spell List Generator v 1.2 (16 K) Web URL: Ultimage's RPG Page Description: Similar to the Priest Spell List Generator, this program allows the user to generate a mage's spell list. It is not random, and the user must choose from a fairly comprehensive list of spells.

File Name: Equipment List Generator v 1.2 (10 K) Web URL: Ultimage's RPG Page Description: This small program allows you to generate an equipment list for a character. This is NOT a random generator - you must chose the equipment from some fairly comprehensive lists. For some reason, the program does not close properly unless you select "File - Exit". Just clicking the "X" in the upper right closes the program, but leaves it resident in memory.

File Name: SJV Attack Simulator (8 K) Web URL: The Apprentice's Lair Description: This program allows the DM to input a character's THAC0, weapon type (long and short swords only), and attack and damage modifiers. He can then input the AC of the target creature, and roll attacks against the critter. Fairly limited, but certainly quick.

File Name: QuickTreasure (244 K) Web URL: Campaign Scribe AD&D Utilities Description: Generates a Treasure Hoard in 2 clicks! Tiny, but certainly quick and useful.

The dice are easily programmable for your specific dice needs. To use the program, extract the zipped contents of each file into the same directory. Run the diceman0.exe file and select a directory to write the reassembled zip file to. Unzip the contents of the diceman.zip file. Run the setup.exe program.

File Name: Treasure Scribe (4,425 K) Web URL: CampaignScribe AD&DŽ Utilities Description: A program designed to allow the DM to make quick, detailed treasure hoards. Includes various options, such as multiple types (for example, Fx3, Q, Rx2). Has an exhaustive listing of AD&D magical items, as well as an option for the DM to add magic items of his own creation. Quite possibly the best program of its kind I have seen to date.

File Name: Random Door Generator Web URL: AD&D - The World of Tryll Description: This program generates a very simple random door, deciding if it is locked (magically or not), trapped, stuck, open, what have you.

File Name: Treasure Hoard Generator Web URL: The Ice Mage's Home Description: Easy to use program to generate random treasure hoards. Quite complete, even creates mundane items to place in the hoard.

File Name: Random Inn Patron Generator Web URL: AD&D - The World of Tryll Description: With this program, the DM can easily and quickly populate any Inn with believable patrons. From the common to the rare, the program will create race, profession, personality, monetary wealth, and current state of intoxication for as many inn patrons and the DM would like. A DOS based program.

File Name: Random Monster Creator Web URL: AD&D - The World of Tryll Description: This program does not just generate a random monster from a pre-determined list. Instead, it actually creates a random NEW monster, with different statistics, strengths, weaknesses, and abilities.
